Head coach Craig Rhodis of 1790 Cincinnati of the Professional Arena Soccer League was officially named to the same position with the US National Arena Soccer Team for a two-year term, ending in 2010.
He replaces former Stockton Cougars player/head coach Bernie Lilavois, who was fired by the Cougars after the inaugural PASL season despite the fact they defeated 1790 for the league's North American Championship.
Lilavois had five goals and six assists in six games with the USNAST and led the team to a 2-4 record and a runner-up finish in 2008 at the Tomeo Internacional de Futbal Rapido event.
Rhodis led 1790 to a 13-3 record, best in the PASL last season, and was named the league's Coach of the Year.
Rhodis has played for soccer teams in the National Professional Soccer League (Cincinnati Silverbacks), United Soccer Leagues (Cincinnati Cheetahs and Lancaster Lightning), Eastern Indoor Soccer League (Lafayette Swampcats), A-League (Cincinnati Riverhawks) and World Indoor Soccer League (Portland Pythons and Utah Freeze).
At the Lightning, he also served as a player/coach.
He spent two years coaching the Cincinnati Excite in the American Indoor Soccer League before the team left the league to join PASL and renamed themselves 1790 Cincinnati.
