United To Release Crayton Tuesday

Major League Soccer's DC United announced Thursday they will not exercise an option year on the one-year contract signed by goalkeeper Louis Crayton and will officially release him when his deal expires Tuesday.

Crayton started six games this season and went 2-1-3 with a 1.33 goals against average.

In his career at DC, he started 12 games and had a 3-1-3 record with a 1.58 career GAA and had four shutouts.

Crayton also made a save in United's 2-1 victory over the Charleston Battery of the United Soccer Leagues First Division in the championship game of the 2008 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament.
