Toure To Miss Four Weeks Following Left Knee Surgery

Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Ansu Torre will be out four weeks after the defending United Soccer Leagues First Division champion announced he will undergo surgery Thursday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Toure scored both goals as the Whitecaps recently claimed Canada's berth in 2009-10 CONCACAF Champions League tournament by shutting Major League Soccer's Toronto FC, 2-0, in the 2009 Nutrilite Canadian Championship and also won the Voyageurs Cup title.

He has played in 15 games over all competitions since being acquired January 21 from the Miami FC Blues. Toure also played for the Atlanta Silverbacks and Minnesota Thunder in USL1.
