George Josten and David Hayes had a goal and an assist each and Takayuki Suzuki, Scot Thompson and Mandjou Keita all added goals as the Portland Timbers set a modern-day franchise record with their 11th straight victory in a 5-1 rout of the Minnesota Thunder in United Soccer Leagues First Division play at PGE Park.
Ricardo Sanchez scored the Thunder's lone goal as their three-game winning streak was snapped.
The Timbers are now 6-1-5 with 23 points and in second place in the league standings, a single point behind the co-leading Charleston Battery and Carolina RailHawks.
Minnesota is dead last in the standings at 1-6-4.
Portland hosts the Montreal Impact next Saturday and the Rochester Rhinos welcome the Thunder to Marina Auto Stadium that night before both teams meet again July 4 in Blaine, MN.
