Timbers Grab A Fast Three In Win Over Impact

Instead of facing the prospect of a scoreless draw and giving both teams a point in the United Soccer Leagues First Division standings, Keith Savage was helped by Cameron Knowles on a last-minute goal in regulation play as the host Portland Timbers shut out the Montreal Impact, 1-0, Thursday at PGE Park.

Portland is in third place in the USL1 standings at 5-1-3 with 18 points and are in third place. They next face the league-leading Carolina RailHawks this coming Thursday.

Montreal is 2-4-2 with eight points and in eighth place in the standings. The Impact will face the defending USL1 champion Vancouver Whitecaps at Swangard Stadium.
