Santiago Mejia and Gustavo Dias scored unassisted goals in the 41st and 48th minutes, respectively, as the Rochester Thunder defeated the host Kansas City Brass, 2-1, Sunday in United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League play at William Jewell College.
Patricio White was assisted by Luke Gorczyca in the 80th minute as the Brass attempted a comeback.
Rochester, an expansion team this season, are 4-5-0 with 12 points and in fourth place in the Central Conference, Heartland Division.
Kansas City (2-6-2, eight points) shares fifth place in the division with the defending PDL champion Thunder Bay Chill (2-2-2).
The Brass return to league play Saturday when they face the Des Moines Menace on the road, but the Thunder are off until June 26 when they host the Springfield Demize.
