Testo's Halftime Lead-Clinching Goal Sticks For Impact

David Testo's 44th minute goal off an assist from Simon Gatti was enough to take a halftime lead and make it a final score as the Montreal Impact edged the defending United Soccer Leagues First Division champion Vancouver Whitecaps, 2-1, Sunday at Swangard Stadium.

Eduardo Sebrango took a pass from Rocco Placentino in the 20th minute for Montrea's first goal, which would be countered in the 42nd minute by Marcus Haber from Ansu Torre to tie the game for the Whitecaps before Testo's game-winning shot.

Both teams share a 3-4-2 record with 11 points and are in sixth place in the league standings and each gets to host the Miami FC Blues in their next game. The Whitecaps get first crack Friday while the Impact must wait until June 23.
