Martina Franks connected with Camille Abily on a 17th minute goal and Marta was assisted by Shannon Boxx in the 25th minute on another goal as the Los Angeles Sol shut out FC Gold Pride, 2-0, to maintain their grip at the top of the Women's Professional Soccer standings Sunday at The Home Depot Center.
The Sol are 8-1-4 with 28 points and have games this week at the St. Louis Athletica Wednesday and a home game Saturday against the Chicago Red Eleven.
The Pride are at 3-6-3 with 12 points and tied for fifth place with Sky Blue FC (3-5-3) but are off until July 5 when they host the Athletica at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.
