Sockers Beat Bravos, 2-1, At Home

Oswaldo Valdivia made a 65th minute penalty kick and Francisco Hernandez scored five minutes later on an unassisted play as the host West Texas United Sockers came from behind to edge the Rio Grande Valley Bravos, 2-1, in a battle of United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League expansion teams Thursday at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland, TX.

Salvador Luna gave the Bravos the lead on an unassisted goal in the 27th minute.

West Texas is tied with the Laredo Heat, both with 4-1-2 records and 14 points, for second place in the Southern Conference, Mid-South Division and hosts the Austin Aztex U-23s Friday.

RGV is 2-3-3 with nine points, in fifth place and travels to the DFW Tornados Friday.
