Sky Blue Swaps Players With Athletica

Sky Blue FC acquired Kerri Hanks, Brazil's Francielle and the rights to another Brazilian player, Renata Costa, from the St. Louis Athletica Friday for Australian star Sarah Walsh, the rights to Brazil's Ester and a conditional draft pick, the Women's Professional Soccer franchises announced Friday.

Hanks became the fourth player in the history of the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy to win the award twice while at Notre Dame. She was the sixth overall pick in the 2009 WPS Draft and has scored a goal and assisted on another in 10 games this season.

Francielle, a member of her country's silver medal-winning 2008 Beijing Olympics team and one who led Santos to a title, has played in six games with the Athletica.

Costa is currently playing for LdB Malmo in Sweden's Damallsvenskan. She was a member of Brazil's silver medal-winning 2004 and 2008 Olympic teams and their 2003 and 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup teams.
