Ty Shiplane scored both goals -- in the fifth minute off a Jason Pelletier assist and unassisted in the 59th minute -- and assisted Pelletier on a 19th minute strike as the United Soccer Leagues Second Division-leading Harrisburg City Islanders scored a 2-0 upset of the Real Maryland Monarchs Saturday at Skyline Sports Complex in Harrisburg.
Nikki Patterson also added a penalty kick shot in the 16th meeting for Harrisburg.
The City Islanders are 7-2-1 with 22 points and will be at the Charlotte Eagles this Friday and at the Wilmington Hammerheads this Saturday.
Real Maryland is 5-5-0 with 15 points and in fourth place. The Monarchs host Wilmington Sunday, then play at Crystal Palace Baltimore this Friday.
