California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Tuesday became the newest member of the Board of Directors for the USA Bid Committee to possibly host either the 2018 or 2002 FIFA World Cup tournaments.
"Soccer is the world's most popular sport and Califronia has been home to some of its most exciting games, and I am proud to be a part of bringing the World Cup back to the United States," the Governor said.
US Soccer president Sunil Gulati, also chairman of the bid committee, called Schwarzenegger "a passionate and committed leader in all projects he takes on."
