Schelotto Duo Ups Crew's Unbeaten Streak To Eight

Guillermo Barros Schelotto scored an unassisted goal in the 14th minute and a penalty kick in the 64th as the defending Major League Soccer champion Columbus Crew shut out the host Kansas City Wizards, 2-0, Saturday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark to extend their unbeaten streak to eight games.

Schelotto, last year's Most Valuable Player, also tied Conor Casey of the Colorado Rapids for the lead in the Budweiser Golden Boot competition with eight goals.

The Crew are 3-2-7 with 16 points and tied for third place in the Eastern Conference with the Wizards and Toronto FC, both 4-5-4.

Columbus hosts Western Conference-leading Chivas USA, the best team in MLS this season, next Sunday at Crew Stadium.

Kansas City hosts the New England Revolution next Saturday.
