Revolution's Twellman Named MLS POW For Week 12

New England Revolution forward Taylor Twellman, who scored two goals, including his 100th career goal in Major League Soccer, in a 4-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA, was named Monday the MLS Player of the Week for Week 12 of the 2009 season.

It is the first time he has won a weekly honor since the sixth week of the 2007 season and eighth overall in his career.

Twellman became the youngest player to score 100 goals in MLS history (29 years, 100 days vs. 31 years, 360 days for Jeff Cunningham), the fastest player to reach 100 career goals (174 games) and the fifth-ever player to tally the century mark in goals.
