Lauren Switzer and Emily Zurrer scored goals in the first 10 minutes of their game as the host Chicago Red Eleven shut out the Minnesota Thunder, 2-0, Thursday in United Soccer Leagues W-League play at Benedictine University.
Gemma Davison assised Switzer on her goal in the eighth minute and Julia Victor did the same for Zurrer two minutes later.
The Red Eleven lead the Central Conference, Midwest Division with a 5-1-1 record and 16 points and are at the Kalamazoo Outrage Friday.
Minnesota is 2-1-1 with seven points and in third place. They will travel to the FC Indiana Lionesses Friday.
