Bailey Powell scored a game-winning goal in the 76th minute off a Katie Vogel pass as the host Boston Renegades slipped past the Long Island Rough Riders, 2-1, Sunday in United Soccer Leagues W-League play at Harvard Stadium.
Shauna Kelleher assisted Victoria Huster on an 18th minute goal for Boston, but Long Island countered two minutes into the second half as Vaila Barsley fed a pass to Brooke DeRosa for their lone score.
Boston is 4-2-1 with 13 points and tied for second place in the Eastern Conference, Northeast Division with the New Jersey Wildcats, who boast the same record.
Long Island, meanwhile, is 3-3-1 with 10 points and in fourth place.
Boston hosts the division-leading Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues Wednesday in a showdown of top teams in the division. Long Island hits the road Wednesday to face the New York Magic, then hosts the Connecticut Passion Saturday.
