Milestones Set As Revolution Blank Red Bulls

It was a night of milestones -- good and bad -- as the host New England Revolution shut out the New York Red Bulls, 4-0, Sunday in Major League Soccer action from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.

On the good side:

- Taylor Twellman became the fifth player in MLS history to score 100 career goals. He had two goals in the victory to stand at 101.

- Jay Heaps, who had a goal and an assist in the game, played in his 300th career league game.

- New England goalkeeper Matt Reis earned his 50th career shutout.

- The Revolution extended their unbeaten streak against the Red Bulls to 12 games at 7-0-5.

On the bad side:

- The Red Bulls set new league records for most consecutive road games lost at 19 and most consecutive shutouts in road games at seven.

Steve Ralston also had a goal and an assist for New England, who, at 4-3-4 with 16 points, moved into a three-way tie for third in the Eastern Conference standings with the Kansas City Wizards and Toronto FC, both of whom are 4-5-4. The Wizards host the Revs Saturday.

The Red Bulls are 2-9-3 with nine points, good for not only last place in the Eastern Conference but being tied with the San Jose Earthquakes, 2-7-3 and having the worst record in the Western Conference, for worst record in the league. New York is at Toronto FC Saturday.
