For the first time in eight years, the FC Indiana Lionesses of the United Soccer Leagues W-League will face an international opponent when they welcome Ireland's Women's National Team June 24 to Kuntz Stadium in Indianapolis, the Lionesses announced Monday.
Ireland's team will be in the city to participate in a 10-week training camp from June 18 to August 30 prior to the start of qualifying matches for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, beginnning September 19 when Ireland travels to Switzerland.
Ireland has drawn Group 6 for qualifying, which includes Russia, Israel and Kazakhstan.
FC Indiana is 7-0-0 in international friendlies.
