Last Place Pioneers Stun Crystal Palace

Adrian Dubois scored goals in the 24th and 52nd minutes off assists from Federico Molinari and Greg Kilkenny, respectively, as the last-place Western Mass Pioneers stunned Crystal Palace Baltimore, 2-1, in United Soccer Leagues Second Division play at Lusitano Stadium Friday.

Baltimore's lone goal came in the 82nd minute on a Pat Healy penalty kick.

The Pioneers, at 2-5-1 with seven points in the standings, are at the Real Maryland Monarchs Saturday, open play in the 2009 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament Tuesday when they host Emigrantes Das Ilhas of the US Adult Soccer Association, then return to USL2 play next Saturday by hosting the Charlotte Eagles.

Crystal Palace, at 3-5-3 with 12 points and tied for second with the Monarchs (4-3-0), are at the USL Premier Development League's Ocean City Barons Tuesday, then hosts the Wilmington Hammerheads next Saturday and travel to the Bermuda Hogges June 19 in USL2 play.
