Lady Clarets Shut Out Destiny On The Road

Sarah Jackyra assisted Maria Lubriano-Lavadera on a goal before halftime and scored off a Lauren Carter assist in the 87th minute as the Cary Lady Clarets blanked the host Richmond Kickers Destiny, 3-0, Saturday in United Soccer Leagues W-League play at Richmond's Sports Backers Stadium.

Lubriano-Lavadera also assisted on Lindsay Vera's opening goal in the 13th minute.

The Lady Clarets are 3-3-1 with 10 points and are fourth in the Eastern Conference, Atlantic Division. They will play a two-game home series against the Hampton Roads Pirahnas, beginning Sunday at Hampton Roads and finishing next Sunday at Cary.

The Destiny, who host the Northern Virginia Majestics Thursday, are 0-7-1 with a point and in last place.
