Fabiane Nascimento assisted Randi Johns for a 35th minute goal Monday night as the Ventura County Fusion shut out the host Real Colorado Cougars, 1-0, at Shea Stadium in United Soccer Leagues W-League play.
The Fusion are 3-1-1 on the season with four points and are tied with the Vancouver Whitecaps for fourth place in the Western Conference standings. Ventura County continues on the road Wednesday against the Colorado Force.
Real Colorado is in sole possession of third place in the standings at 2-4-2 with eight points and hosts the conference co-leading and defending league champion Pali Blues Thursday.
