Islanders Take Sole Possession Of First Place In USL1

Nicholas Addlery's goal off a Fabrice Noel assist in the 54th minute gave the host Puerto Rico Islanders a 1-0 shutout win Saturday over the Charleston Battery gave the Islanders sole possession of first place in the United Soccer Leagues First Division at Juam Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, PR.

Puerto Rico (7-3-4, 25 points) leads the Battery (6-2-6) and the Carolina RailHawks (7-3-3) by a point and lead the surging Portland Timbers (6-1-5) by two.

Both Puerto Rico and Charleston meet again Thursday, this time at Blackbaud Stadium. The Islanders then travel to the RailHawks next Saturday.
