Hooker Joins Sky Blue FC Roster

Sky Blue FC of Women's Professional Soccer announced Tuesday Katie Hooker has been added to the team's roster and will debut Wednesday when the team plays the Colorado Force of the United Soccer Leagues W-League in an exhibition game.

Formerly Katie Antongiovanni, she was a sixth round 2009 WPS draft pick by the league-leading Los Angeles Sol, but was cut before the first game of the season.

She played in the Women's United Soccer Association with the Atlanta Beat and the San Jose CyberRays, in the United Soccer Leagues W-League with the Mile High Edge and the Mile High Mustangs, and in the Women's Premier Soccer League with the Denver Diamonds.

Hooker is in her sixth season as assistant coach at the University of Denver, where she was an All-Sun Belt Conference First Team in the 2000 and 2001 seasons after transferring from Iowa State. She also was the SBC's Most Outstanding Player in 2002.

With the Cyclones, she was the Big 12 Conference's Rookie of the Year in 1999 and an all-conference First Team member in 2000.
