Anthony Anderson had two goals and an assist and Artur Aghasyan and Andrew Villalobos added goals as the host Ventura County Fusion defeated the BYU Cougars, 4-2, Saturday in United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League play at Buena High School.
Zachary DeFrancis and Brady Marshall scored goals for the Cougars.
The Fusion are 7-1-4 with 25 points and in second place in the Western Conference, Southwest Division, a point behind the division-leading Hollywood United Hitmen (8-2-2, 26). Ventura County travels to the Lancaster Rattlers Friday.
BYU is in seventh place at 3-4-3 with 12 points and plays a home-and-home series Wednesday and Saturday with the last place Ogden Outlaws.
