Fury Draws Closer To Rough Riders In Division Race

Will Beauge scored the game's only point in the 20th minute off an Adrian Schippes assist as the host Ottawa Fury upset the Long Island Rough Riders, 1-0, Sunday at the Algonquin College Soccer Complex in a United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League game.

The Rough Riders lost for only the second time in 13 games (10-2-1) and have 31 points to lead the Eastern Conference, Northeast Division.

Ottawa, who remains in second in the division race, cut Long Island's lead over them from seven to four points as the Fury are now 8-0-3 with 27 points and could take over the lead in the division by beating the Ocean City Barons and the New Jersey Rangers on the road Saturday and Sunday, respectively, before the Rough Riders defeat the Brooklyn Knights July 8.
