Washington Freedom goalkeeper Erin McLeod, who led her team to their second shutout victory in her six appearances this season in a 1-0 win over the St. Louis Athletica Saturday, was named Women's Professional Soccer's Player of the Week Tuesday for the 13th week of the inaugural season.
She is the third Freedom player to win the award this season (Abby Wambach - Week 5, Sonia Bompastor - Week 6), the second Canadian player to win it (Christine Sinclair, FC Gold Pride - Week 8) and the second goalkeeper to earn the honor (Jillian Loyden, St. Louis Athletica - Week 9).
