Five Nominated For Week 15 Goal Of The Week

Major League Soccer Monday announced the five nominees for their Goal of the Week Award, voted on by fans at www.mlsnet.com through 2 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday.

Three of the five players have won the award before.

Here are the nominees:

Dwayne De Rosario, Toronto FC
Scored goal in 69th minute of 2-0 win Wednesday over the New York Red Bulls off assists from Chad Barrett and Nana Attakora

Omar Cummings, Colorado Rapids
A previous winner in Week 12, he scored the game-tying goal off Mehdi Ballouchy in the 84th minute of a 1-1 draw against FC Dallas Wednesday

David Ferreira, FC Dallas
Scored team's goal off Kenny Cooper and Jeff Cunningham assists in 37th minute of 1-1 draw Wednesday against the Colorado Rapids

Clint Mathis, Real Salt Lake
A previous winner in Week 6, he scored the team's final goal off a Ned Grabavoy assist in the 78th minute of a 3-0 shutout against Toronto FC Saturday

Nate Jaqua, Seattle Sounders
A previous winner in Week 11, he scored the first of two goals off Fredy Montero in the 48th minute of a 3-0 shutout win Sunday against the Rapids

FC Dallas' Eric Avila was selected the Goal of the Week winner for Week 14 Wednesday.

He scored Dallas' opening goal of a 2-1 win upset win over the defending league champion Columbus Crew last Saturday off a Ferreira assist in the 80th minute.
