Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire Friday released goalkeeper Nick Noble, the seventh overall pick in the 2007 Supplemental Draft from the University of West Virginia.
In his 2 1/2 years with the team, he played in 17 Reserve Division matches, but never played for the senior team.
He did, however, compete for Chicago in their third round game against the Cleveland City Stars of the United Soccer Leagues First Division for the 2008 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, and in exhibition games against Mexico's Club America, Everton FC of the English Premier League and Poland's Wista Krakow.
