Aviv Volnerman had two goals and an assist to lead the Newark Ironbound Express to a 5-3 home pitch win Thursday over the Westchester Flames in United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League action from Lubetkin Field at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Kyle Clancy had a goal and a pair of assists and Chris Karcz had a goal and an assist as the Express improved to 6-7-0 with 18 points, putting them in third place in the Eastern Conference, Northeast Division.
Westchester, who got two goals from Jose Dos Santos and one from John Niyonsaba, are 1-8-3 wth six points and are in eighth place.
Both teams play again Saturday -- the Express at the Ottawa Fury, Westchester hosting the New Jersey Rangers.
