Who knew how important a Brian Ching goal, assisted by Brian Mullin, in the final minute of a game would be for the Houston Dynamo at home Saturday?
First, the goal caused a 1-1 draw between them and Real Salt Lake in a Major League Soccer contest from Houston's Robertson Stadium.
Second, it extended their current unbeaten streak to 11 games and RSL extended their unbeaten streak to three games.
Third, the tie gave the Dynamo the lead in the Western Conference standings and the best record in the league at 8-2-4 with 28 points, one better than Chivas USA (8-4-3).
Finally, with the draw and having the best record in MLS at the moment, Houston head coach Dominic Kinnear will now be the head coach for the league all-stars when they face England's Everton FC July 29 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City, UT.
RSL opened the scoring in Saturday's game in the 28th minute as Yura Movsisyan and Chris Wingert teamed to assist Fabian Espindola on a goal.
RSL is 4-6-4 with 16 points and is fifth in the conference standings.
The Dynamo travel to the Los Angeles Galaxy next Sunday and RSL hosts Toronto FC next Saturday.
