Defending Champ Chill Gets First Win Of Season

Anderson Fernandes scored goals in the 11th and 76th minutes and the defending United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League champion Thunder Bay Chill got an own goal off an opponent's mistake as they edged the Rochester Thunder, 3-2, Friday at Rochester Community Technical College.

Teal Bunbury and Mark Heath-Preston scored for the Thunder.

The victory was Thunder Bay's first of the season and, at 1-1-1 and four points, put them in a tie for fifth place in the Central Conference's Heartland Division with the Kansas City Brass, also 1-1-1.

Rochester is 3-3-0 with nine points and in fourth place.

Both teams met again Saturday in Rochester, MN.
