Cummings Goal Ties Game, But Breaks Team Unbeaten Streak Record

Major League Soccer's Player of the Week Omar Cummings scored a game-tying goal off a Mehdi Ballouchy assist in the 84th minute as the host Colorado Rapids played FC Dallas to a 1-1 draw Wednesday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO.

The draw, though, set a new Rapids record for longest unbeaten streak at eight games, breaking the previous record of seven first set from April 10-May 27, 1999, then repeated August 16-October 2, 2003.

Colorado is also unbeaten at home in six games at 3-0-3.

The Rapids are in fourth place in the Western Conference standings at 5-2-5 with 20 points and travel to Qwest Field Sunday to face the Seattle Sounders.

FC Dallas, whose lone goal came from David Ferreira off assists from Kenny Cooper and Jeff Cunningham in the 37th minute, are 3-7-4 with 13 points and in seventh place. Dallas hosts the New York Red Bulls July at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX.
