Vince Petrasso, Philip Wilson and Ronnie Bouemboue scored goals to lead the host Cary Clarets to a 3-0 shutout of the Virginia Legacy in a United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League game at Middle Creek Park in Cary, NC Friday.
Cameron Brown assisted on Petrasso's 57th minute point and Thomas Drake did so on Wilson's goal in the 77th minute. Bouemboue's goal was unassisted.
Cary, an expansion team this season, is 7-2-2 with 23 points and in second place in the Eastern Conference, Mid-Atlantic Division, three points behind the division-leading Reading Rage (8-1-2, 26). The Clarets next host the Hampton Roads Pirahnas Sunday.
Virginia is 1-4-6 with nine points and is tied for fifth with the FC Fredericksburg Gunners (2-5-3) and the West Virginia Chaos (2-7-3). The Legacy are at the Carolina Dynamo Saturday.
