Ty Shipalane had second half goals in the 65th and 72nd minutes and Chad Severs opened the scoring with a fourth minute penalty kick as the Harrisburg City Islanders edged the host Real Maryland Monarchs, 3-2, Sunday in United Soccer Leagues Second Division play at Richard Montgomery High School.
Marc Gracien was helped by Sean Rush on a 54th minute goal and Tom Taylor scored a 90th minute goal for the Monarchs, but the rally failed.
The City Islanders now lead the USL2 standings at 5-1-1 with 16 points and are at the Richmond Kickers Saturday.
Real Maryland is 4-3-0 with 12 points and in second in the standings. They meet the Western Mass Pioneers on the road Saturday.
