Maroua Chebbi scored the game-winning goal in the 79th minute off a Melissa Lesage assist as the Quebec City Amiral retained their shared top spot in the United Soccer Leagues W-League's Central Conference, Great Lakes Division with the Ottawa Fury in a 2-1 victory Saturday over the host London Gryphons at North London Stadium.
Quebec City, at 6-2-0 and 18 points, is tied with the undefeated Fury (6-0-0) at the top of the standings.
Melissa Smith had London's only goal in the fifth minute off a Devon Branch assist, which held up as the halftime lead, before Marie-Claude Villanueve was there for Myriam Bouchard on Quebec City's first goal in the 76th minute.
London is 0-5-2 with two points and in seventh place.
The Amiral are at the Hamilton Avalanche Sunday, then host the Fury Saturday in a divisional showdown.
London heads to Hamilton Wednesday, then hosts the Buffalo Flash Friday.
