Campos Leads San Jose To California Clasico Win

Paulo Campos scored a penalty kick goal in the sixth minute and teamed with Chris Leitch on Ryan Johnson's goal in the 54th minute as the host San Jose Earthquakes edged the Los Angeles Galaxy, 2-1, Saturday in Major League Soccer play at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum for the California Clasico.

Jovan Kirovski scored the Galaxy's lone goal in the 65th minute off assists from Alen Gordon and Mike Magee.

San Jose is 3-8-3 with 12 points and are in seventh place in the Western Conference standings and the Galaxy are 2-3-9 with 15 points and are tied for fifth with Real Salt Lake.

The Galaxy host the Houston Dynamo next Saturday while the Earthquakes are off until July 4 when they play RSL at Rio Tinto Stadium.
