Battery's Winning Charge Lasts For 10th Game

Tyler Hemming assisted on a 13th minute goal from Darren Spicer and a 66th minute play by Matt Bobo as the Charleston Battery extended their current winning streak in the United Soccer Leagues First Division to 10 games with a 2-0 victory over the Austin Aztex in the first of a two-game weekend series Friday at Nelson Field in Austin, TX

The Battery, the lone undefeated team in USL1, is at 6-0-4 with 22 points and tied for the league lead in the standings with the Carolina RailHawks (7-2-1). Austin is 2-3-3 with nine points and is in seventh place.

Both teams play again Saturday.
