Elcio Freitas connected with Andres Cuero on a goal to end the first half of play and Kendell McFayden ended the game with an unassisted goal as the visiting Austin Aztex U-23s beat the host El Paso Patriots, 2-0, Saturday at Patriots Stadium to take the lead in the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League's Southern Conference, Mid-South Division.
Austin is 5-1-3 with 18 points and host the West Texas United Sockers this Saturday.
El Paso (5-4-0, 15 points) are tied for second place in the division with the Laredo Heat (4-1-3, 15 points).
The Patriots will play a weekend series at home Friday and Saturday against the last place Houston Leones.
