Adam Gross scored an unassisted goal in the 63rd minute and Jamie Cummings and Kendell McFayden scored nearly back-to-back goals in the 84th and 86th minutes as the Austin Aztex U-23s rallied to defeat the host West Texas United Sockers, 3-1, Friday in United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League play at Grande Communications Stadium.
Jose Munoz scored the opening and only goal for the Sockers off a Carlos Guillen assist.
Manuel Gonzalez contributed to Cunnigham's goal and Elcio Freitas did the same for McFayden's scoring strike in the victory for Austin.
Austin is 4-1-3 with 15 points and tied for the lead in the Southern Conference, Mid-South Division (5-3-0), which sets up a matchup for sole possession of the lead Saturday.
Both Austin and West Texas meet again next Saturday at Dragon Stadium in Round Rock, TX.
