Sky Blue FC Signs Sesselmann, Promotes Keselica, Cuts Hammond

Sky Blue FC of Women's Professional Soccer announced Thursday the signing of former Chicago Red Stars forward Lauren Sesselmann to a developmental contract.

Sesselmann was selected in the seventh round of the 2009 WPS Draft by Chicago but was one of the last players released before the start of the league's inaugural season.

Sesselmann played last season for the FC Indiana Lionesses in the United Soccer Leagues W-League and scored nine goals and four assists in 14 regular season games.

She was a two-time All-Big Ten Conference First Team member in 2003 and 2005 and set six school records while at Purdue in career points (90), goals (34), assists (22), game-winning goals, multi-goal games and shots on goal.

In other team news, Sky Blue promoted Noelle Keselica to the full roster and released Jenny Hammond.
