Hezdic Scores Game-Winner For Metros Over Blackhawks

Rijad Hezdic broke a potential draw in the final minute of regulation play as his unassisted goal gave the Nashville Metros a 3-2 victory Thursday over the host Atlanta Blackhawks in United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League play at Alpharetta High School in Alpharetta, GA.

Nashville took a 2-0 halftime lead on an unassisted goal by Garrett McLaughlin in the ninth minute and Scott Davidson assisting on a Ryan McDonald play in the 25th minute.

In the second half, Atlanta's Kevin Sawchak assisted on San Arthur's goal in the 59th minute then scored one himself in the 72nd to cause the tie.

The Metros (1-1-1, four points) are tied for second with the Bradenton Academics for second place in the Southern Conference, Southeast Division race. Atlanta is dead last at 0-2-0.

Nashville returns to play Sunday when they host the Baton Rouge Capitals while the Blackhawks are off until they host the Panama City Pirates May 21.
