Spidal Named Head Coach Of PDL's Seattle Wolves

Seth Spidal was introduced Tuesday as the first head coach of the expansion Seattle Wolves of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League.

Spidal spent the last eight seasons as an assistant to head coach Dean Wurzberger at the University of Washington, leading the Huskies four times to the second round of the NCAA tournament, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2003.

He also was involved in the recruitment of two players who became back-to-back Pac-10 Conference Players of the Year -- Kevin Forrest in 2006 and Ely Allen in 2007.

The Wolves come to the PDL from the Starfire Premier League in Washington state, where they were the 2009 regular season and Premier Cup champions.

Seattle opens their debut season May 8 at the Yakima Reds and make their first home appearance May 13 against the Tacoma Tide.
