Goalkeeper Hunter Gilstrap will return for his third straight season with the Cleveland City Stars of the United Soccer Leagues First Division after signing a contract Wednesday.
Gilstrap joins Anthony Stovall as the only players on the roster who have been with the team since their 2007 inception in USL Second Division.
The 2008 USL2 champions, the City Stars chose to promote themselves to the First Division this season.
Gilstrap played recently in the South African Premier League for Maritzburg United.
He had a combined goals against average of 1.03 with seven shutouts in playing at Clemson and the College of Charleston.
In 2006, he was selected 13th overall by Miami FC in the USL1 Draft, then joined the City Stars.
In 2007, he had six shutouts in 12 games, won the USL2's Goals Against Average championship with a 0.50 mark and was named to a USL2 Team of the Week in August of that year for a seven-save performance in a shutout over the Harrisburg City Islanders.
Last season, he has a 1.125 GAA in eight games, including three shutout victories, en route to Cleveland's USL2 title.
The City Stars face a fellow USL1 expansion team in the Austin Aztex Saturday.
