Timbers Sign Pore To Two-Year Contract

The Portland Timbers of the United Soccer Leagues First Division announced the signing Thursday of midfielder Ryan Pore to a contract through the 2010 USL1 season.

Pore spent the past four seasons with Major League Soccer's Kansas City Wizards, where he appeared in 58 career senior team games, scoring three goals and two assists, and in 37 career Reserve Division games, scoring 31 goals and seven assists.

He played in 14 games for the Wizards in 2008, starting five, and had an assist. Meanwhile, he was second in the Reserve Division in scoring with nine goals.

The 16th overall pick in the 2005 SuperDraft will start training with the Timbers Monday.
