Thunder Sign Two, Cut Two

The Minnesota Thunder of the United Soccer Leagues First Division announced Thursday the signings of former DC United midfielder Rodion Dyachenko to a two-year contract with an option year and former University of Maryland defender Rich Costanzo to a three-year contract.

Dyachenko was released by the Major League Soccer franchise after three seasons and one goal and one assist in 42 games. He was the 31st overall pick in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

Costanzo led the Terrapins to the 2008 NCAA Men's College Cup championships and started all 26 games in his senior season. He began his college career at Penn State, but transferred to Maryland after his freshman season.

Minnesota also released midfielder Tighe Dombrowski (16 games in 2008) and defender Paul Moran (five games in 2008).
