Dynamo Edge Impact In Testy Scrimmage

Brian Ching scored two second-half goals and Chris Wondolowski had the first point for Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo in a 3-2 preseason victory Saturday at Robertson Stadium against the United Soccer Leagues First Division's Montreal Impact.

The 70-minute scrimmage got heated in the 56th minute when Montreal's Roberto Brown elbowed Houston's Eric Ustruck and both benches clearly briefly. One player from the Dynamo was restrained by teammates and no punches were thrown, but Brown was ejected from the game.

Both teams are currently in the quarterfinal round of the new CONCACAF Champions League.

Houston dropped the first game of their two-match series to Mexico's Atlante, 1-0, while the Impact have a 2-0 lead over another Mexican franchise, Santos Laguna.

The Dynamo are 3-1-2 in preseason play.
